Tonight we are coloring eggs for FHE. When I was younger my dad would lay out newspaper, and get all the coloringready. Mom would have boiled eggs earlier in the day. We would color til all the eggs were dyed. So we are going to do the same thing. I'm trying to bring tradition to our little family of 2. It is hard some time because Nels doesn't get excited about ANYTHING!!!!! Except maybe a good BBQ. He tries to amuse me by joining in, but I know he'd rather be doing anything else. I'm sure when we have kids that are old enough to get excited he'll get into it. As for now I think he thinks it's a big hoopla for no reason. So I have to get excited and throw parties for 2 until a long while later. (not feeling sorry for myself, just explaining) Obviously I didn't cook as many eggs as my mother would, but a dozen will do! I loooovvveeee Easter time. Easter candy is my favorite, let's be honest any candy is my favorite. Just ask my mom. In case anyone wants to send me some here are some of my favorites: Cadbury mini eggs, cadbury creme eggs, all the different types of jelly beans; starburst, jolly rancher, and of course smuckers puckers, peeps, Reeses, chocolate covered marshmallows. Oh man I need a candy fix ASAP! Too bad I'm trying to eat healthy...er.... I'll just have to wait for this weekend when we go down to Nels' families for my candy overload.

Happy St. Patty's Day!!!

For St. Patty's day I woke up early to make Nelsie a hearty breakfast. I don't make him breakfast very often during the week besides the occasional toast, so this was a pretty good idea. I made him his favorite eggs, fried, it's harder to make green fried eggs then you think. I also made bacon, brown because it's hard to make bacon green and who would want to. I then made pancakes, I made them into boobs some how so they ended up being the ones that were for him.

I worked all day on Dinner. I started the corned beef early in the morning and let it cook all day until we were ready when I added the cabbage twenty minutes before. I made rolls and added some food coloring to them, because I remember always having green rolls that my mom made, they always tasted better green. I LOVE shortbread cookies dipped in chocolate now, so that is what I made for dessert. I was out of money for my food budget and didn't have anything in the house dessertish. Luckily I had all the ingredients for shortbread. They are delish and make it look like you spent more time then you did. Of course I dyed them green too. I have decided that food dyed is so exciting. I found limeade in the freezer and was so psyched! GREEN!!! I also made garlic mashed potatoes. It was a great day. I loved cooking all day and making a special meal for Nels. He said he was going to come home for lunch so I was trying to get it done or at least hidden before he got there so it would be an exciting treat! He was very impressed and loved it, minus the cabbage, he does not like cabbage. I found out though that I didn't like it either.

Our St. Patrick's day dinner! It was so delicious and so green and perfect. It consisted of Garlic mashed potatoes, limeade, corned beef and cabbage, green rolls, that I made. It was perfect! It was deliciously green!

Roller Derby

Last Saturday the 6th, Nels, our sister-in-law Tiffany, Erin,(friend from San Fran) and I went to San Fran for Roller Derby!!! It was the most awesome-est, craziest, most violent thing I have ever seen in my whole life!!! It's like roller skating meets WWE! It was amazing!! That's all I can say. It was so intense and fast paced. For those of you who don't know what it is you can watch "whip it" It's a new movie that I haven't seen, but it has roller derby in it. If you don't want to watch it then here i'll explain.
A team of all women or men, maybe 8 or so skate around in a circle, just like a skating rink except that it has slight incline and declines and everyone sits in the middle if they are not playing in that round. Two people from the opposite teams tries to lap everyone, for how many people they lap of the opposite team they get a point. All the while they are trying to knock each other off the rink and out of order. They are throwing punches, kicking, throwing them off the rink, (which is elevated between 2-4 feet in places.) After ten minutes the round ends and the men come on the rink and then every 10 minutes they alternate men and women. So you're always playing with people of the same sex. Doesn't make sense? Go look it up somewhere else.
My heart was pounding the entire time. You really end up cheering for one team only and the other is seen as mean, ruthless, and crazy! I am not a violent person, and when it started out I was worried for everyone's safety, after about ten minutes when the girls are done and boys have their round, I was cheering for one team and hated the other and hoping they get thrown off and hurt

blogging on the wii

So our laptop broke last week. So i hooked up the internet to the wii. I was sick of being stuck at home with no resources. So if you've ever tried writing your name with the wii motion detecting wand you would realize how steady your hand has to be, how many mistakes/corrections, and then would know how desperate i am for said internet. :) I feel like harry potter castin spells. Oh! and it tAKes ten times as long,but as you can tell i'm sure, it's TWICE the fun! WHOOT! WHOOT party over here! If you wanna try it out just stop by, i'll let you have a turn.
p.s. this post has taken about 15 minutes or more to write! and has more mistakes then a junior high student's first real english paper. tubular dude!
