A judge has overturned the ban on same-sex marriage here in Ca, stating it is unconstitutional. It makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. I knew we weren't done with prop 8, but hoped that it would be a while before having to defend yet again. I obviously don't know much about what's going on, but still it makes me feel nervous and uneasy. I feel that the vote was made in state after state, and majority ruled they didn't want it to be legal. Marriage is between a man and a woman and it feels like making it not so makes a mockery of what I have with my husband, along with all others who are married.
It seems more unconstitutional for one judge to overturn something that the people have voted for.
I hear you girlfriend. I need to keep up with these things better too but...why define something as the same when it's inherently not? They can still have hospital visiting rights and inheritance rights...that's fine...but it's not the same thing so don't call it that.
