Yesterday I cleaned the apartment took a shower, had a little nap and woke up with the flu!!! What the Junk! Then I wake up this morning with no Flu!!! I don't know what that was all about, but I don't have it anymore....weird I know.

So I saw this on a blog that I read where at the end of her posts she puts something lovely and horrible that happened that day. I think its clever and kind of shows the day you've been having. So here is my stab at it.

Lovely: Nels brought home 2 tri tip roasts from a work BBQ! No cooking tonight and that's expensive meat that we didn't have to buy!!!!
Horrible: I haven't folded laundry in about 2 weeks so I had a lot of catching up to do today! Lets just say that we've been digging in the dryer for clean undies the past couple of days.

And for your viewing pleasure. Here's us with the baby lion from our cruise.

Cruise

Our cruise was A-Ma-zing! We got on the boat and it was full of delicious food and lots of fun. We had our friends Andy and Sarah with us so it was constant fun. We laid in the sun, ate way too much food, slept in, read, visited Puerta Vallerta, Cabo, and Mazatlan.
In Cabo I got to hold a Baby lion!!!!! One of the highest points of the trip! She was a little cutie, she would purr, but it sounded more like she was growling. I got a little nervous until they told me she was indeed purring and not going to bite my head off, or my finger that she was sucking on. Pictures of that will have to come after because those are on Nels' camera.
Puerta Vallerta was a little ghetto and at times I was nervous we were going to be kidnapped by the drug lords. Don't you fear we are home safe and sound....obviously. Nels and I got Henna tattoos and I got fried crispy.
Mazatlan was beautiful. The buildings are very colorful. We paid an older man who drove one the taxis to take us around. It only cost 25$ which the ride and waiting he did would have cost us at least 150 anywhere else. Mazatlan has the most beautiful beach homes! I want one sooo bad. They were perched on the side of the cliffs over looking the ocean.
We had a blast! I can't wait to go on our next cruise. And for now I am sick of typing so if you want details call me and I'll tell you all about it!
Nels eating the delicious Mongolian BBQ food!
Our Welcome, it was on the Tv
Front of the boat, The Carnival Splendor
Our room, we slept on twin beds

Towel Monkey!! We had a different animal each night. Starting with an elephant, then a puppy, scorpion, giraffe, monkey, and heart.

New, but used table

Friday before our cruise Nels came home and told me that he had bought me a surprise and that I needed to come take a look. I walked outside and there was a coffee table sitting there. He then proceeded to tell me that on his way home he drove by a garage sale that everything was for only $1. I had driven by this sign many times, but didn't want to stop because I don't like to go to garage sales by myself, and I figured that there wouldn't be anything of use there.
He found this coffee table and since we've been wanting one for a while now we were excited to have one. It was dirty stained and had some markings on it. I wanted to stain it, we didn't think it would work because it isn't real wood. I stained it and it worked! Actually I just painted it with stain so, not really stained I guess. It took a couple coats, but it turned out just the way I wanted. Now all we need to do is screw in some stabilizing joints since it was only a dollar it's obviously not great quality, but at least now it looks like it!

Labor day weekend was GREAT!!!! I know that I am late in posting, but we had fun so it needs to be shared with all....who read our blog. Which is few.
We started our week off with heading up to El Dorado Hills to see all of Nels' family that had come into town. Alexis and Jeff were blessing their newest addition Luke. He's adorable and the sweetest baby in the world and I love him. Alexis is the greatest mom. She keeps her cool, and she makes motherhood look fun! She doesn't stress about the little things. She is super mom! Anyways, so we went up there Friday afternoon and stayed the night because Cole (her oldest) had a football game that Nels wanted to go to. I meanwhile stayed home and watched the babes with Maggie (another sister) It was so nice to be able to talk to Maggie and have a conversation without too many kids screaming and no football on the tv in the background.
Nels had a game later that day so the Boys and I headed down to Lathrop for that. It was nice to have someone to sit by during the game. It was HOT! Nels' team won. We then split the El Dorado Hills (edh)boys went their way and we left to go home. I hate working on Sundays by the way.
Sunday we had to drive all the way back up to EDH for Lukes' blessing and after party. The after party was alot of fun. With mild, yet funny drama. :) The johnson Family is great at keeping things light and enjoyable. We both enjoyed out time, Nels got to watch football with his dad and brothers, and I got to talk with the ladies. I love his grandmas.
We left EDH and headed down to Monterey to visit Lindsay and Jon. My best friend from Jr. High. We spent the night playing games, visiting, and gossiping about her trip to Utah. (Judge all you want, yes I gossip.) In the morning we had my new favorite treat, Boba! So delicious!!! It's like eating blended fruit, but the ripest best tasting fruit you could ever dream of. (If you visit I'll drive you the 2 hours to get it, Well worth the drive) We then went to the Aquarium. I love fish, the underwater world they live in is amazing. I wish I could be a mermaid. Not only do I love to swim, but lets face it Ariel has a nice cartoon body. After the aquarium we went to Bubba gumps. oh my goodness so delicious.

And now that I have rambled here are some pictures!
LUKIE
SEA Shell, don't mind the unflattering shot look at the cute people in the shot.

I totally touched these sting rays!! It was amazing!!!

I realized that it has been a while since I blogged last, but truth be told nothing has happened since....well I can't think of anything that has happened that is exciting.
Nels has started coaching football again, but this year he gets to be the head coach of the midgets. He is at work or practice ALL the time. I haven't seen him too much the past few weeks. He leaves early in the morning and comes home at about 9 each night. We get about an hour and a half a night of talking and snuggling and catching up before it's bedtime and the day goes the same way the next day. So needless to say I am more than ready for football season which just started to be over. I am glad that he gets to do something he loves though.
I am still doing the same thing as always. Working a few hours a week and trying to fill my time in semi productive ways.

We are really excited because we are going on a cruise in 20 days!!!!! Mexican Riviera here we come. We are so excited. We are going with our friends Andy and Sarah. They are hilarious. I am so excited to laugh and play, stay up late laughing and playing, and swimming constantly! I have never been on a cruise so I am kinda nervous that i'll get a little sea sick, so Dramamine or Bonine will definitely be packed, along with lots of books to read while sitting next to the pool! It's going to be AMAZING!!!!!!!
If you want souvenirs send me the money and a list of what you want and I will make an attempt to bring you home said souvenirs.

A judge has overturned the ban on same-sex marriage here in Ca, stating it is unconstitutional. It makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. I knew we weren't done with prop 8, but hoped that it would be a while before having to defend yet again. I obviously don't know much about what's going on, but still it makes me feel nervous and uneasy. I feel that the vote was made in state after state, and majority ruled they didn't want it to be legal. Marriage is between a man and a woman and it feels like making it not so makes a mockery of what I have with my husband, along with all others who are married.
It seems more unconstitutional for one judge to overturn something that the people have voted for.
