Tahoe!

This last weekend we went up to Tahoe for Nels' work party. It was on Saturday so a few of his coworkers and us decided to go up early on Friday to go camping for the night. We haven't been camping since we got married so I was all on board with going. We went up set up camp and then sat by the fire and talked and laughed with everyone. The next morning was the party at Pope beach. Nels and I sat under a tree in the shade and read, ate, and chatted. It was an amazing weekend! It was so relaxing and peaceful. I didn't get any pictures of our campsite unfortunately, but most campgrounds look the same. So imagine Tall pine trees, tents, and dirt. WONDERFUL!!!!

I did however get a good picture of this cute little Cuss!!! I love this baby!

New nightstands!!! We went to Monterey Ca, last weekend to get away from the heat and spend the weekend with one of my Best Friends Lindsay. We went to good will and found this little gem.

I knew that I wanted it to be white with blue tinted or green tinted crystal knobs. I have yet to buy those. (harder to find then I thought) Anthropologie has them, but they are $8 a piece and I need 7! You do the math, not happening especially since I got the nightstand for $6.

I painted my good will nightstand, but then realized that the current one needed to be painted to match. So I painted it. I don't have a before picture but it was just a regular oak color.

I love them! All they need is the knobs and they will be adorable!

I miss

These girls!!! These girls were my freshman roommates, they made my first year of living away from home the greatest!!! I love them so much! Every time I think of them I get a little sad. I love my life now as it is with the husband, but man was this a great year! We had so much fun. We used to laugh at practically anything. I have very memorable times of that year like; shooting Allison in the eye with the milk carton lid, (on accident of course) our quote wall, beauty tips with Bertha, Preference on the Heber Creeper.( My dancing has never been better than dancing on a rocking train) dying each others hair, sharing illnesses, Jen and I both had Bronchitis at the same time and I remember the other four listening to us talk in our high squeaky prepubescent voices. I have not found any other girls that I have gotten along with as well as I did with these 5. They are AMAZING! I miss you all and wish we lived closer together!!!

Seeing Stripes

My new friend who just moved up from southern California had accidentally packed this old ugly chair that was intended for good will. She saw what I did to my kitchen chairs and thought that I would like to recover this chair for my "future kids." And well, she was right.
When I first started ripping the chair to shreds I was sure this was going to be the cutest chair ever, after all how could it be any worse than what it had shown up to be as.
So last night I starting as I said ripping it down to the bare cushions, taking out countless staples, and getting it prepped for the reupholstering I would do to it today.
I went to Joann's today to get some fabric, I knew that I wanted some sort of animal print, but that was as far as my ideas had gone. I spent 2 hours looking, comparing, texting pictures to sisters, and friends trying to get input on what looked best, and what would be gender neutral . I was having a really hard time finding two that went together. I liked the busy fabrics, but I just couldn't find and winner winner chicken dinner type matches. I randomly put these two fabrics together and LOVED it! I bought them, after standing in line at the cut table for FOREVER, came home, and started working.
Total I worked on it for about 7 hours. It has been a great project, I love doing stuff like this. I only wish I had a few more things to do. I had a blast doing it.

Spam

Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, spam, I am getting a lot of spam sent to my email lately. It always says something catchy like MICHELLE, ______________(enter crap here). And the thing is I almost believe that it is from someone I know. Then I started getting emails that say I need Larger Breasts, Better Breasts, or Bigger and Better. Or my favorites are from Viagra, but it is then that I realize that these people don't know me, and are not my friends, because as it is obvious to most I have very large boosies, and do not have any....gentleman's stuff.
P.s If you would like either of these type of emails sent to you I am more than willing to forward them on to you.

I have been called out on my lack of blogging. I can't help it that we are boring. Although this last weekend we did go visit one of my besties Lindsay down in Monterey. We had such a good time, we relaxed the entire time. We went for a drive around Carmel. It was gorgeous!!! I want to move there one day, or when we become rich and famous I am going to have a summer home down there. It is absolutely beautiful! The homes are very quaint and cottage like. I loved it. One day I WILL own a home down there, or at least a time share, or...visit for a weekend.
Lindsay and I got to catch up, laugh and just have a good time. I love getting together with old friends and just chat about how it used to be and the silly little things that are going on. I wish that we didn't live so far away from them, and not just them all my friends. I miss that interaction, I miss having people around who know me all to well and we can just get together and laugh hysterically like we never skipped a beat.

Candy really does help a troubled tummy!!! Okay I just made that up, but it does work, my tummy was rumbly and not feeling too hot. I ate some gummy dinosaurs and boom problem solved!!! Or it could be the pepto i guzzled a few minutes before...I'm thinking it was the dinos! Yup the dinos...
